Larry Dabeck

Chaplain, pastor, recruiter, author and soldier. As an ordained minister, Col. Larry Dabeck has pastored seven U.S. Army congregations and invested his life as a chaplain in the U.S. Army, stationed in the United States, South Africa, Congo, Iraq and Afghanistan. His heart for wounded and dying soldiers earned him the army’s Bronze Star. Dabeck completed a U.S. Army War College Fellowship at the University of Notre Dame in Strategic Leadership, writing on “Capabilities-Based Senior Leader Development.” Prior to Notre Dame, Dabeck served as the army’s Joint Staff Deputy Chaplain. While on the Joint Staff, he supported the Global Integration of Religious Support and Advisement across the Joint Staff and Combatant Commands. He has led marriage retreats for military couples and served as an armored brigade combat team command chaplain, assisting 5,000 soldiers. Dabeck holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Divinity, completed post graduate work in Biblical Counseling and a Master of Sacred Theology degree in Ethics. Larry and his wife Cathy have three sons who serve as army officers; one is a chaplain candidate.
